    In some fashion it most likely pops or or snaps in and out of place without tools. Get in there with a flashlight if necessary and you be able to see how to do it.

    get the new one first. any hardware type store. the holes in the fork end go on a set of ears inside the tank at the bottom. you'll likely want to turn water off at valve under the tank first.

    I don't even turn off the water.  I just reach in and pull out the old flapper and immediately pop in the new one.  Then detach the chain (on the old flapper) from the flush lever.  Then attach the chain from the new flapper, already in place, to the flush lever making sure there is a  little slack.  So, you get your arms a little wet but it's just tap water.
