Why did Communism catch on in China and not other major Asian countries and would it have flourished so in white countries if not popular in?

Communism is a monster:

Back up one generation ... why did communism catch on in Russia? Lenin shopped his ideas throughout Europe and no one was interested. Industrialization had taken hold and people were gaining wealth and security. But Russia was not industrialized, the peasants were dirt poor, starving, and there was no end in sight. Communism looked great to the masses. Now, back to China .... same story, no industrialization, dirt poor masses with no future. So everyone bit in to communism. Note that skin color is not involved in this analysis.

It caught on at the barrel of a gun under Mao, and his Great Leap Backward that killed upwards of 45 million due to famine left the survivors so weakened that there was no fighting it.
