Can you take oral Benedryl hours after using topical Benedryl?

I applied topical about 8 hours ago. Am I allowed to take an oral Benedryl? I tried Googling the answer and didn't come up with anything.

Update:

Eyecue_two: Doesn't matter. It states clearly on the topical cream box and the internet, that you're not supposed to use them at the same time.

Yes. You can take a pretty large dose of bendryl before bad things happen and you are no where near that dosage based upon what you are saying here.

You've got some kind of skin rash, or insect bite?

That should be alright.  There's a pretty big safety margin for that drug.  Take just one 25mg Benedryl dose for now.

It's safe, topical goes through the skin in minutes.
