    Their politics have  veered more into dictatorship, than communism. 

    The economy not so secretly embraces crass capitalism.......but mainly for the rich and powerful, who can afford such luxuries.

    No; it's more of a crony capitalist country.  People with links to the CCP get away with virtually anything, and bribery and corruption are rampant.

    China is now really more like a capitalist country with a one-party government. There is a lot of private enterprise and a lot of income inequality in China. Not very "communist".
