My Husqvarna lawn tractor transmission will not engage.  Showed signs of slipping but would always work.  Now, nothing.?

Tractor is 5 years old.  It will not show any signs of engaging the transmission, forward or in reverse.  No sounds of pulling, nothing.  It worked for a short time yesterday and then later in the day (and again today), no signs of life.  Mower engine runs fine and blade will engage.

If it is hydrostatic, make sure it has fluid.  I would check for loose, worn, or broken belts.

    How is the belt?

Still on the original belt? Consider replacing the belt.

Also ensure that it isn't low on hydraulic oil.

Sounds like you need to contact a dealer or lawn tractor repair place and get new clutch pads installed.  They are like brake pads and do wear out, thus the slipping with no sign of life.
