Would "Brian" be a good name for a white Labrador?

If that's what you want to name it, go for it. I would personally get sick of everyone saying, "Oh you're a Family Guy fan, huh?" because that's what's going to happen.

It's not ideal, but if you love it and it fits - it is YOUR DOG. It will be a slower name to get out in an EMERGENCY and it is not a "crisp" name. In field trial or hunting situations one syllable names are preferred like Jack (also very crisp). For training at home and for obedience commands a two syllable name ending in "Y" or the "IE" sound is best. It AUTOMATICALLY sounds happy when said, and usually trips out of the mouth quickly. Examples: (Stormy, Icee).
