Do you have to go to hospital if you have a stomach ulcer?

    No Sophie, your 'stomach ulcer' is not a reason to waste doctors' time in A&E again. Buy some omeprazole or esomeprazole from a pharmacy or good old fashioned gaviscon and stop overdosing on NSAIDs. If the medication is ineffective after a few days call your GP surgery but ONLY if necessary as they're dealing with people that actually want and need their help. All they'll do anyway is give you more omeprazole and maybe refer you to the gastroenterology clinic in 6 months time. Do call 111 if you're vomiting blood or passing black, tar like stool or the pain is severe - they will be able to tell if you're faking symptoms in A&E so be warned.

    It depends on how the doctor wants to treat you for them. My dad had to go to the hospital for them.

    No, not usually. Just avoid acidic foods and take carafate until it heals.

    I would. Someone at my scenior school actually died from a perferated ulcer.
