How much beneficial is it for me to take electrical engineering or electronic engineering in order to become a licensed fire alarm tech ?
Is this needed ?

To become a fire alarm tech (installation & repair), you need basic understanding of electricity and how to use voltmeters and other equipment related to the industry. Beneficial is an AS degree in electronics technology.
You don't need a four year engineering degree unless you want to design the alarm systems from scratch. You don't need two years of calculus to be a alarm tech.

It woulb be like becoming a qualified motor mechanics to use a pencil sharpener.
