It is better to do your homework and make sure you are buy shares backed up by strong balance sheets or new companies on the block that you are strongly confident about for the long term.

It is best to hold on to a stock unless it is reported that the earning expectations are lessened, the company has bad news reported or if there is a bad economy about to occur such as now. You mightve heard some suggesting to buy a stock and forget about it with the reason being that when you revisit the stock years down the road it will be worth a great deal more. Thats a good sentiment, but a lot of bad can happen that can cause that stock to lose a lot of value, so its actually best to stay on top of things when it comes to your investments and money.

IF you think a stock is going to drop significantly in price it's best to sell it. That's a big IF, I'm much more of a buy and hold person. Managed mutual funds which have 'professionals' running them didn't do any better knowing it was time to get out of the stock market during this crash.

History proves that holding on during temporary problems like this virus shows most stocks come back to their former price trends.
