they aren't any better. As my father used to say 30 years ago when General Motors holden was an Australian religion BMW is German Commodore. Point being BMW weren't any better than the GM products then and today they aren't any more reliable as theres less of them they are harder to fix because parts are dearer.

I don't. BMW's are over priced and not good looking.

Well they have one big thing in common is that they break down alot and are made of cheap plastic. So yes, they are both junk but one is technically considered a luxury car which is the bmw.

You're nuts. You obviously have no clue about the way each of these makes was built!

No way. The BMW does have a history of perfection surpassing Chevy's in general. But as one expert mechanic put it, "Any car will last, if it's kept up."

Absolutely not.  Sure both break down, but a BMW is 5 times more expensive to repair than a chevy.  Also, a BMW is an aspirational vehicle(most owners lease for two years, then get something else).  Chevy are not.  You keep a chevy for the life of the car/truck and run it into the ground after 240K miles.  So no, there is no comparison.

With that record, most likely any car that you have, and take care of, will probably last a long time.  Your not hard on equipment like many others.  My VW is doing well but normal maintenance like DSG(every 40K) is expensive($900). Hopefully you dont have one.
