Can Harry Potter be classified as Science Fiction?

    I don't see how it would be since Potions are the the only thing close to Science Fiction but Fantasy and Science Fiction are often sold together so you might see it in the same table or bookshelf as Science Fiction books.

    No, because there is very little in the way of actual science. Fantasy would be a more-fitting genre.

    No...not even science fantasy. There is little to no mention of anything scientific in the HP series. HP is pure fantasy.

    No it can not. The genre is fantasy.  US public libraries will have usually have  it in the young adult section.
