A force of 17.34 ✕ 10-16 N acts on an unknown particle traveling at a 90° angle through a magnetic field. If the velocity of the particle is 11.3 ✕ 104 m/s and the field is 3.2 ✕ 10-2 T, how many elementary charges does the particle carry?

    =>17.34 x 10^-16 = q x 11.3 x 10^4 x 3.2 x 10^-2 x sin90*

    =>q = 47.95 x 10^-16 C

    Let the number of elementary charge is n

    =>By q = ne

    =>n = q/e

    =>n = (47.95 x 10^-16)/(1.6 x 10^-19)

    =>n = 30
