Is this a good time to buy a car at 50% off?

What happens if I make an offer on a new car at 50% off?

you must take it because people are giving such offer because of the virus.

Laughing, historical laughing. Follow-up with, most likely, fits of coughing and the wetting of pants.

Give it a try and see if I hadn't been completely honest.

Try it and get back to us. I would lay heavy odds that you'll be leaving without a deal.

yes, because it is hard for dealers to sell a car now because of this virus

They won't laugh, but they will use it to start a conversation about what you really can afford.

Try starting at 25% off--it's lower than they are likely to accept, but you might be able to score a good price.

You will be responsible for the death of the salesman -- because either he'll die laughing, or he'll insult you so badly that you'll find a heavy blunt object and bash his head in.

The profit margin on new cars is extremely low, perhaps only several hundred dollars per car. They will not sell a car to lose money on it.
