Why are conservatives so opposed to the kind of socialized healthcare countries like Italy and Spain have?

Socialized healthcare may cost citizens notably more taxes, but recent events show how it creates more preparedness and assures all citizens receive care in tough times.

People in Spain are dying on hospital floors while being denied care, and Italy simply refused to treat older folks who are most in need of medical attention right now.

Taxes will rise, sure, but citizens won't have to pay co-pays, deductibles, premiums or out of pocket expenses. Why is that so hard to believe?

The US, the richest country in the world, is the only first world country in the world. How do these other countries afford it?

It’s more expensive for the vast majority of people, and potentially for the society as a whole.

The cornerstone of socialist healthcare is rationing. I like MY healthcare a lot better. In fact, if I had the misfortune to live in a country with socialist healthcare, I would be dead.

Chris why do you think the citizens in countries with socialized medicine live longer than Americans?

While tragic, hopefully this crisis shows a single payer system like Spain an Italy have is much better prepared.  Sure retirees may be denied care, but they are old and no longer contributing to the economy.  When they die, the inheritance tax on their wealth helps maintain the system.

Countries with socialised healthcare are far better off than the USA. You don't see countries rushing to adopt this great US healthcare system, do you? That's because the US healthcare system is sh!t.

the thing about conservatives are they're not so much conservative. They're just capitalist loving neocons. Hardly the same as what Burke's definition of conservatism was
