Why do people approve of Trump's handling of the Coronavirus epidemic when he refuses to tell manufacturers to make more surgical masks?

Each doctor takes decades of education to train, and they are difficult to replace if they pass away because of the lack of protection from the virus.

Update:

Some doctors are begging him to do it.

Many are making them on their own,, great for them to do that, If they are forced into making them all other production would come to a halt and cause more problems, your president is doing the correct thing.

It’s already too late, and doing so would only make him look worse. So in a way, he’s handling that issue very very well like we’ve never seen.

There is no need to order manufacturers to produce masks. Companies have already volunteered to do it.

You should really try to look a little less power-hungry.

Why didn't the Democrats allocate more money for surgical masks?  Oh wait, they were too busy allocating more money for the Kennedy Arts Center.

Jeff D:  There's no need to allocate more money for surgical masks. Every hospital  keeps 100's of surgical masks on hand at times, & they're not anticipating any shortage of masks from the manufacturers. Surgical  masks aren't manufactured for sale to the general public; they're sold to hospitals.
