If he was to die from the virus there would be a year's mourning in the royal family, there would be a big state funeral ( after the corona virus is over) and then we would carry on, william would be made the prince of wales and would succeed his grandmother.

He wouldn’t be alive anymore. That’s just my guess.

William would become the future King, automatically becoming Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles, and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland. He would eventually be bestowed Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester.

For Charles, there wold be a ceremonial royal funeral or memorial when time permits it to happen. Since there is a shelter-in-place, there would not be a lying-in-state or funeral now.

William assume those titles if his father was king at the time of death....otherwise, he would eventually be bestowed Earl of Chester and Prince of Wales.

  • There would be ten days of solemn music and hagiographies on TV and nobody would be allowed out to get away from it.

Not if, when.   We all die at some stage.    That would, as you must know, depend on whether he pre-deceases his mother The Queen.   If so, then she'd still be The Queen.   And there's be a big funeral (depending on the situation with Coronavirus).    If HM had died already, and Prince Charles died, then he'd be buried and his son Prince William would become King.

    You surely know all this?

ps   Given the current C-virus situation in the UK, I'd imagine he'd have a private burial, probably in the Chapel in Windsor Castle, and then a Memorial Service later on.  Nothing would be 'the same' as before at the moment.

Many would be secretly happy, that justice had finally caught up with him.

Then William would become King .. when the Queen dies.

The PROBLEM would be ''what to do about the funeral'' !

I don't know what the rules are in the UK but in Australia, weddings are limited to five people and funerals to ten. Perhaps they'll put him on ice and bury him when the times are more suited to large gatherings.

The Duke of Cambridge is then the heir apparent. Hard to imagine any funeral in the present circumstances with everyone 2m apart (although, unlike weddings, they are permissible), so let's hope it doesn't come to that.
