Legality: adopting as a single mom and transitioning to a single dad?

I plan to someday adopt internationally (I'm from the US). I was born and raised female, but I've been seriously considering transitioning to male for the past few years. I was wondering, would there be any legal issues if I were to adopt from a country that allows single women to adopt but not single men if I were to transition at some point after the adoption is finalized?

Once the child is adopted, it's adopted. It's your child. No one is going to look you up later to see if you are still the same sex.

Adoptions take time to finalize, but once that is done, your right to transition should be respected.
