I just listened to the duet Islands in the stream that he did with Dolly Parton on the radio.

It's such a powerful & great song in the way they both complimented each others vocal strengths.

lt made me quite emotional listening to it.

It's so hard to choose a singular song of his & say that it's my favourite without feeling like I'm being disloyal to his other tracks, because I loved so many of the songs he made .

I found that years ago, as I became more and more eclectic. Country Music is and has been my mainstay over the years. Yet though that's the case I no longer can have a single song or piece music that  I can truly call a favorite.

It's sad seeing the legends and greats of Country Music passing. Kenny Rogers ranks with the legends of Country Music. I really don't have a specific song I can really call a favorite. However one of his top, and more memorable hits I've sometimes used part of is "The Gambler." I'll close with this part though in his memory. "In his final words I found an ace that I could keep."

I'm not with him. He didn't bend to the song, the song bent to him. Which is what made him the legendary icon he was. However even 9 Inch Nails' Trent Reznor admitted Cash's version was better, and many times he'd change and use the one word Cash changed. That says a lot.
