Would Australia be a successful country if it had been colonised by the Spanish instead of the British?

Or would it more closely resemble Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Paraguay, Guatemala, and Venezuela?

It doesn’t matter. All colonial powers were equally awful, no matter what they did because they took their people and forced other peoples to live alongside them . Thank goodness today we have come to our senses and people from all over the world move to their ancestral lands which is not awful, but so enriching to the people that live there.

I love double standards, don’t you?

You might be able to spell "colonized" correctly

Um, everyone outside the USA spells the word as "colonised," not "colonized." Go look at the Oxford English Dictionary. Only Americans spell it as "colonized."

Unfortunately yes. The British commanded prestige. Otherwise it would be another Mexico.

    • Probably have a lot more people using Centrelink's services, too.
