One disadvantage of Apple computers is the fact that they have a very limited memory, and they usually cost more than PC's. One advantage of Apple computers is the fact that since less people use them they are more secure from hackers.

I can name most of the Graphics cards on the market, and.....NO, Apples do not have better Graphics. In fact Apple generally uses an AMD Graphics solution which is Good, but inferior to Nvidia's offerings. The answerer who said better graphics probably meant that a top of the line iMac comes with a 5k screen, which looks sweet.

Apple computers do get viruses and there has been more malware written for a Mac over the last several years than ever before. The 'Apple don't get a Virus' Myth was something that was widely believed like a decade ago. There is however, less malware written for a Mac than a PC. Apple computers are mostly known for having decent quality, decent hardware specs, good customer service, and a robust software choice for video editing and music production. Honestly the quality of Apple products have gone downhill since Tim Crook too charge of the company.

The downside is an Apple is difficult to fix or upgrade on your own. You get more hardware power for your dollar with a Windows based PC. Most PC games only run on Windows, and Bootcamp is a poor substitute if you want to play PC games on a Mac due to the Mac not having a lot of GPU power to run a game. Also, software choices are more abundant with Windows.

Apple computers are made very durable. You cant play Five Nights At Freddy's on a Mac though.

    1. Advantage- generally prettier than Windows- based PCs

    2. Disadvantage- you generally get half the computer for twice the price, as compared to a Windows- based PC.

I don't think there are any real advantages other than name recognition for cult members. It's an over priced pc where many have to load a Windows environment to get around the limitations of Apple.

None.  Its a taste thing, a personal preference. For a long time you could say that musicians and artistic types were more attuned to macs than PCs. So they might enjoy a mac more. While engineers and accountants would prefer PCs.

Mac Dis: Generally more expensive and less upgradable

Mac Adv:  Usually lasts a little longer.  Ex. A PC is often completely obsolete in about 7 years while macs are useful sometimes as much at 10+ years.

The major disadvantage of any Mac is that you'll be paying about 1.5 times for the same hardware. Maintenance is also a hell of a lot more expensive because if any part of the hardware has to be replaced you usually cannot do it yourself easily.

The same is partly true for PC Laptops but it really depends on the kind of computer and which part broke.

As for the other disadvantages mentioned, those are easily resolved by simple installing Windows instead of MacOS (or both).

And just to be clear: "no viruses" couldn't be further from the truth. There have been major attacks on Macs in the past and entire companies were affected. Anybody who doesn't know that and claims Macs don't get viruses shouldn't be taken seriously about anything.

Advantages:  No viruses, easy to operate, better graphics and sound.

Disadvantages: Expensive, apps and file types that are incompatible with most people's computers, limited hardware versatility.
