What can cause a fast idle on Ford 302 after tune up?

    vacuum leak, or advanced timing and idle not adjusted correctly.

    Check idle speed and air fuel mixture adjustment.  Check carb float setting.  Check for a vacuum leak.

    vacuum leak, or advanced timing and idle not adjusted correctly. If you did the tune-up you should know to include idle adjustment in the proceedure. What year is your 302, and is it fuel injected or carbureted?
