Why is it that once a contestant in Jeopardy! has correctly answered, other contestants don't get their opportunity to answer same question?

They only allow the first person to push the buzzer to answer the question - right or wrong.

Question: "What is the capital of Sweden?"
Contestant number 1: "Stockholm."
Alec Trebeck: "Correct, but let's see what the other contestants have to say"
Other contestants: "Gee, I don't know, perhaps, Stockholm."
I'll take, you're an idiot for $500.

Because the answer is already known at that point.

They only want one right answer and, once the first one is given, there's no need for any more. The real competition consists of two things: 1. Speed and 2. Correctness.

Because it has already been answer. One correct answer per question.

Because if the question has been answered correctly to their hearing, then they could easily just repeat that answer, even if they didn't know it before

Are you really dumb or pretending to be?
The object of the game show is to be the first with the right answer. There is zero merit and challenge (and no reward) in 'guessing' the same answer that was given seconds before and already deemed to be correct.
