All knives (other than common table knives) should be hand washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and hand dried and put away so that the blade is protected.

With all knives in which the hilt is made of a different material than the blade, they should be washed in hot, soapy water [no soaking], rinsed, then dried immediately.
