And who, pray-tell, are “they”? The world is filled with conspiracy theorists. Yes, the virus kick-started in Wuhan, and yes there really is a research lab in Wuhan. The problem here is the lab and the farmer’s market where “subject zero” got infected, are miles apart. In fact, the pattern of infection hasn’t even reached back to the lab. The vast majority of patients were shoppers at the market. And although bats aren’t sold at the market, everything that bats snack on IS sold there. Keep in mind too that all the animals that the Chinese think have “medicinal uses” are also sold at these markets. That’s why world-health specialists originally blamed pangolins as the source.

How does your question relate to Books and Authors?
Spam is spam and you didn't ask a question but out spam in the wrong place. Google for the latest information about the coronavirus if you really want to know about it.

I have a friend who thinks that, and he is not dumb (at least in usual sense). Even has a Phd.
My take on why some want to think humans made it is that oddly human made makes believers more comfortable. If human made, then human controlled. If random jumps from animal world, then OMG it could happen anytime, anywhere.

I heard a couple of Chinese scientists on an exchange program stole Coronavirus from a bio-war lab in Winnipeg, Canada and sent it to Wuhan last summer. From there, it passed into a marketplace because some unscrupulous scientist was selling the carcasses of lab animals to the market to sell as food.

Well, as this is the Books section, I rather doubt that anyone has had the time to write a book on this topic.

Who are "they" and where did "they" get their information from? This is not the site for that statement. I don't see a question.
