The average NFL defensive back is only about an inch or two taller than the average high school senior defensive back. Keep in mind, most people stop growing (and reach their final, adult height) as a high school senior/college freshman. However, the average high school senior defensive back is 6 or 7 inches taller than the average high school freshman defensive back.

The average DB at my school is only like 5-7 or 5-8 and most are juniors or seniors

No matter what level, a defensive back needs to be at least 6 feet tall.  If they are less than that, they can expect every player on the other team to take a run at them and knock them senseless.

Are you retarded? Have you heard of Tyrann Mathieu or Darrelle Revis?
