In the Bible, God, with his litany of errors, seems completely incompetent as a deity. Surely anyone, given magic powers, could do better?

No real god could possibly be as ignorant and mendacious as as the Christian “god”.

To which errors are you referring?  I'm not aware of any.

By human reasoning, but 1 Cor. 1:18-19 is there for all to read.

Another anonymous idiot criticizing something that they have no knowledge or understanding of. Of course, agreed with by many like-minded idiots!

God doesn't make errors, god IS the error.

God doesn't lie, god IS a lie.

Men created many gods to enslave other men.  They are still used for that purpose exclusively.

The bible god is anything but great, it is miserable, needy, incompetent, and prone to killing tantrums.  Damn good thing that monster doesn't exist as advertised.

It's actually worse than that. Any careful reading of the Old Testament would lead one to believe that the god depicted there is a moral monster. No sane and reasonable person could come away with any other opinion than that. Your point is also quite valid. You think at least god could have gotten the scientific facts correct. He can't even do that.
