    We're not 100% sure but that seems to be what makes this one different from SARS and MERS. Those two were spread by contact. This appears to be airborne as well.

    It is airborne through getting into the mouth and eyes from people with the virus coughing and sneezing. It can also be picked up via the hands from surfaces that have been coughed and sneezed on if the mouth or eyes are subsequently rubbed.

    Yes, it is a virus which is spread as other viruses are spread - coughing, sneezing, etc.

      Not all viruses are spread by airborne vector. Norovirus & Hep A  are only spread by contact. HIV, HBV, and Ebola are only spread by bloodborne contact. HPV is only spread by sexual contact. Many, many viruses are not spread by coughing or sneezing.
