Is there such thing as medication for type 2 diabetes (such as metformin) taken "as-needed" along with diet and exercise?

Or are all diabetes meds a daily thing?

Healthy eating and exercise can help lower your levels or keep them low but you cant take the meds when needed as you take then after food normally 3 times per day like I have to do but unless healthy diet is followed sugars can still be too high

At this time there are no oral or injectable as needed meds. There a few once a week type meds, but most of those are used along with other meds that are daily meds.

Losing weight will reduce your A1C.
