How much does it cost to switch a non op registration to a regular registration?
Bought a car and crashed it before I could register it. Was told I’d have to register it in my name in order to get my personal belongings out the car, so I registered it as a non op. When I got to the tow yard I was allowed to get personal belongings, BUT I wasn’t allowed to sign the car over as a non op. Does anyone know what the fee is to change it to a regular registration?
The car it totaled and I don’t want it.
I need to renew the regular registration in order to sign the car over to them and pay less fees.
I’m in California BTW!

Yes someone knows. Your (unnamed) DMV knows. Ask them and then you will know.

I'm sure the big state of California has a DMV website look there for accurate answers 😉.
