Currently there are approximately 20 airports screening for the coronavirus (See "SARS-CoV-2" which causes "COVID-19".) LAX is one of the airports doing the screening. (However, as Rona mentioned, the situation is subject to rapid change without notice.)

Most airlines, if not all, have temporarily halted or reduced the number of direct flights originating from China.

As such foreign nationals who visited China recently is barred from entering the U.S. Any returning U.S. citizens / lawful residents who visited China recently will be subject to an examination and may be subject to quarantine for a short period of time.

    The situation is constantly changing.

NO ONE can guess what might be done next month.

They have more attention to flights known to have people with health issues.

ANY AIRLINE flight that requires screening.

They DO NOT check if you have the virus. It takes a while for the results to be known from testing.

The do watch for the symptoms. The symptoms are exactly the same as many other ailments. A cold, influenza and many others.

the main screening is watching for those with an elevated temperature.

Yes. Any flight with direct service from China. However, any flight with through service (same plane) from China is subject to screening as well.
