Suppose you are driving in the High Sierras from Mammoth Mountain to the Owens Valley 2007 m below.?

    As the question says "approximate" I will use h = 2000 and g = 10

    v^2 = 2gh = 20*2000 = 40000

    v = sqrt( 2gh ) = 200 m/s  ( 720 km/hr or about 450 mph )

    If everything were perfect, Potential Energy would become Kinetic Energy.

    mgh = ½ mv²

    v = √2gh = √2*9.80665 m/s²*2007m

    v = 198.40335959857131411195609324912 m/s

    Adjusting for 4 sigfigs: 198.4 m/s
