Kinetic Energy in J if m is in kg and V is in m/s

KE = ½mV²

since there is a V² term, the KE goes up by 4 times.

Gain = ½m(2V)² – ½mV²

Gain = 2mV² – ½mV²

Gain = 1.5mV² = 1.5(0.277)(4.25)² = 7.50 J
