Is chicken left for 4 hours in a 38 degree environment okay to eat?
Our power went out at home, so I took all of our chicken products and out them outside where it’s about 38 degrees today. Would they be okay to consume still?

Yes. In order to multiply and transmit foodborne illness, a potentially hazardous food has to reach a room temperature between 40 & 140 degrees to start multiplying, and tossed out four hours afterward if it’s remained in the “danger zone”.

You didn't need to do that. Had you left your refrigerator and freezer closed, they would have maintained temperature for several hours. 38 degrees and in a cooler is different than 38 degrees and in the sun. Next time that happens, leave your refrigerator closed. If the power is off less than 8 hours, most things will stay frozen in the freezer, and most things in the fridge will be fine. The most perishable thing in your frig is milk.

Really depends if the temperature is in C or F. This is a WORLD wide web......F - you are fine, C - you are screwed.

The chicken is fine.
Temp for a refrigerator is usually around 40 degrees give or take a few.

Yes, they would be fine. Average temp range of a refrigerator is 34 - 40°F. Your post is more suited to Food & Drink>Other-Food & Drink though, instead of Diet & Fitness.
