KEFLEX to treat pelvic inflammatory disease ?

So today at my doctor I told her I suspected I had pid she gave me an antibiotic called Cephalexin (Keflex) and when I asked if I indeed did have pid if it would cure it she replied yes. I researched online and did not find this antibiotic as a treatment for PID. I really want this pill to work and I’m super confused. Can anyone give me insight to if this will treat it or not?

Take it and see. As with any antibiotic, take the recommended dose until the pills run out.

;Your doctor is sadly misinformed! There is NO cure for PID. There are treatments only. Keflex can be used to treat many things, however, I've never heard of it being used to help with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. You need to seek a second opinion with a new gynecologist...this doctor seems to not have a clue.
