    The total weight is

    W = (3.4 + 2.8 + 1.3)kg * 9.8m/s² = 73.5 N

    so the two scales must total this amount.

    top scale reads weight of block less buoyant force:

    Ft = 3.4kg * 9.8m/s² * (4100 - 1000) / 4100 = 25 N ◄

    which means that the bottom scale reads

    Fb = (73.5 - 25) N = 48 N ◄

    upper scale :

    3.4*9.806*(4.1-1)/4.1 = 25.2 N

    lower scale :

    9.8*(3.4+2.8+1.3) = 73.5 N
