Is it ok to call them up to inform them this?

You have a particular appointment at a practice. A seemingly anodyne & routine procedure so easy that even a caveman can do it is performed on you. After that procedure, you get a severe adverse effect. (Examples: migraine, dizziness, indigestion, etc)

Would it be acceptable to call them to let them know this? Or would it be unnecessary?

Update:

May I add that I still should even if it's possible it happened to another patron after that particular procedure?

Update 2:

or maybe even common?

Yes. It needs to be recorded on your medical record so extra precautuons can be taken if any similar procedures are needed in future.
