Is it true Hitler actually didn't know anything about the holocaust and the concentration camps and that it was all done by subordinates?

Of course it isn't true. Please show us your source for this ludicrous statement.

Please also note that nobody has ever claimed that what was 'done' was 'done' by Hitler personally. 'Knowing' what went on, and actually 'doing' it, are not necessarily the same thing.

Nobody imagines he was up on the roofs of the gas chambers pouring in the Zyklon B crystals, or that he himself took part in the mass shootings at, for example, Babii Yar (do look that up if you want to give yourself nightmares). But he certainly knew 'about the holocaust and the concentration camps'.

There were a lot of things that went on behind Hitler's back.

In his final testament, he condemned and expelled Goering and Himmler because they did "immeasurable harm to the country and the whole nation by secret negotiations with the enemy, which they conducted without my knowledge and against my wishes, and by illegally attempting to seize power in the State for themselves." - Hitler.

This doesn't profess to have any knowledge of a "Holocaust", and, as coincidence would have it, not a townsperson near any one of the camps admitted to knowing about "exterminations" - which would appear to be the case if there were no exterminations going on.

Accusations of exterminating Jews were started as part of the hate propaganda against Hitler as early as March 1933 - 53 days after Hitler became Chancellor - impossible in anyone's wildest claims.

As for the concentration camps, of course, Hitler knew about them. He knew also that they were a haven for typhus and other deadly diseases. He tried taking care of the prisoners using Zyklon B as a pesticide and disinfection treatment.

There wasn't enough to properly take care of the prisoners - why would they waste it to operate gas chambers?

They were called "death camps" because of the high death toll from the disease epidemics, not because of homicidal gas chambers. The BBC was broadcasting propaganda about the Nazis "gassing Jews", but the actual "apparatus" for doing so was never mentioned until after the Soviets liberated Auschwitz and announced the existence of "gas chambers", which military officials accepted at face value without a single investigation to verify anything.

    • According to the eyewitnesses, it took around 15 minutes for the victims to die - that left a whole 5 minutes for the room to air out before these "people" started carting them away. Your claims don't hold water, and if this is what was in the film, then the film is totally worthless as a reference.

Highly unlikely. Hitler was paranoid, and believed everybody around him was a potential enemy. Which in fact they were. His use of strong amphetamines kind of supported that mindset. He DID want to know what everyone was up to. And if he was suspicious in any way - he acted.

Not only did everything you've ever heard about the holocaust really and truly happen, it was far worse than what you probably already know.
