    Maybe at first. Otherwise, you either inserted it improperly or you’re using a tampon that is way more absorbent than needed for your flow.

    No.  Tampons do not cause damage to the vagina.  One of the biggest myths is that it causes a woman to lose her virginity, when in truth it only stretches her hymen (if its intact at all).  Unless you are taking a great amount of force to put in the tampon, it cannot by itself rupture the hymen at all.  That is the only reason that misinformed people advise girls/women against using tampons for menstrual flow.
