(45/7x - 2/9) + 123/7x + 20/9 = 180

24x + 2 = 180

24x = 180 - 2

24x = 178

x = 89/12

so

m∠ KIM = 45/7x - 2/9 = 45/7(89/12) - 2/9 = 47.4° answer//

m∠IKY = 123/7(89/12) + 20/9 = 132.5° answer//

2 consec angles = 180 so

(45/7)x - 2/9)+ (123/7)x + 20/9 = 180

x = 89/12

Simple, it's a parallelogram, hence IM and KY are parallel. Consequently, m<KIM and m<IKY are consecutive angles, i.e. they add 180 degrees.

(45/7)x - (2/9) + (123/7)x + (20/9) = 180 and then solve for x.
