Is Mike Bloomberg (D) still pushing for the construction of an Islamic center and mosque at ground zero ?

He didn't push for it.  That was a private set of developers.  And the Mosque and Islamic cultural center wasn't "at Ground Zero".  It was a couple of blocks away, which in the context of Manhattan is a different neighborhood.

The "controversy" over this was idiotic.  For one thing, the Islamic Center was going to go into a former Burlington Coat Factory.  Hardly hallowed ground.  Second, the center was only offensive if one assumes that all Muslims bear some sort of collective guilt for 9/11.  Ironically that's the same sort of logic which the 9/11 terrorists used.  They believed that all Americans, even civilian noncombatants, were collectively guilty of the crimes which they believed America's government had committed in the Middle East.

He's a Jew that's why.   He certainly wouldn't allow it in Israel.   Multicult for America but Jew only for Israel is what the Jew supports.
