A CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) is NOT just an "adult babysitter". They are vital in the day-to-day work of most healthcare facilities. They might work in a hospital, a clinic, a nursing home or occasionally in the patient's home.

To become a  CNA, you need a high school diploma and advanced training. The training is  offered through vocational schools and community colleges, and  by hands-on training in medical facilities themselves.  Most CNA's work in hospitals and "assist" licensed doctors and nurses.

Yes, CNA is a real career and you have to take classes to become a CNA.

Seeing as how a CNA can work in any specialty or ward, I'm not sure why you fixated on adults.  CNAs can work the entire hospital, home health programs, assisted living facilities, etc.  Of course it's a real job.

Certified Nursing Assistant is a professional  designation, not a job.

If you were paid, it would be a job.
