I have the same thing and more happen to me and I've been told that I should go see a TMJ doctor but still haven't made any appointments. Do you grind your teeth at night? Does your jaw sometimes make a clicking sound when you talk or eat? I was told to wear a mouth guard while I sleep to prevent the grinding, as it tenses the muscles in your jaw when you sleep. Basically imagine carpal tunnel but in your jaw. They almost lock when yawning or moving too much after excessive grinding or use. If you don't grind your teeth, I'd say drop your question and any other symptoms on a dentists forum and see what they say. The cause it often stress that creates the grinding. But definitely consult a dentist or your PCP because that's usually who can refer you to a specialist.
