Do you get pregnant right away after you have sex?!?

I dont mean that your belly will became inflated right after intercouse, but the semen would have met the egg somepoint after ejaculation and from the the seed has been watered only to grow bigger from there.

Update:

become*, there*

An egg is NOT fertilized "right after" you have sex & you do not get pregnant "right after" you have sex.. Most often, the egg is never fertilized at all.

Fertilization takes place in the Fallopian tubes, not in the vagina or in the uterus, and sperm cells can survive in the tubes for up to 5 days after ejaculation, waiting for an egg to fertilize. It takes about 10 days after fertilization before the fertilized egg implants into the lining of the uterus (if it ever does) and establishes a pregnancy.  THAT'S when pregnancy occurs - after implantation.

Not always. There is a reason people try to get pregnant, i didn’t have to try very hard or very long but i imagine it’s not that easy for some people

No, pregnancy does not occur immediately after sexual intercourse. It takes a couple days for the egg to become fertilized.

Sperm in the wild have been clocked at over 120 mph.  Yes, faster than a hungry cheetah.  It only takes milliseconds for them to rampage up your vagina, through the cervix and gang bang your egg into motherhood.

Anon:  That's assuming a woman is ovulating at the time the sperm is doing all that rampaging. If she's not, sperm can do all the rampaging they want to, and nothing will happen.

Nope, it actually takes about 5 days for an egg to get fertilized.

Sperm can live for up to five days.

That means that conception (egg and sperm joining) can happen as soon as 30 minutes after sex OR as long as 5 days after sex.

Once conception happens, you still aren't actually pregnant yet.  The fertilized egg needs to successfully implant onto the uterus wall for pregnancy to actually happen.  This can be between 5 to 9 days after conception.

So - no - pregnancy does not happen right away after intercourse.

No. You are not pregnant until the fertilized egg implants itself in the uterus 5-6 days later. Not all fertilized eggs successfully implant.

Fertilization, where the sperm meets egg, happens somewhere between a few hours to a few days after intercourse. Implantation, the point at which pregnancy really begins, happens several days after that.
