A close friend's adult children shocked our community when they disclosed that they are atheists. Where did our friend go wrong?

If they're FERVENT, no TV, reading the Bible, praying, singing, (only including kids if they wish), I guarantee they'll LEAVE ASAP if not believing.

Such a complete waste of time, so hurtful, so much better NOT to have them.

Atheists need to be raised by atheists.

What sort of a community is shocked by this? Does everybody know everybody else's business and get judgemental about it? Sounds a Hell of a place to live!

Your friend raised their kids to be intelligent people that did research before making a decision.

He or she went wrong by having kids that are smarter than he or she is.

Where did our friend go wrong?

By worrying about what their "community" whatever that means thinks about their or anyone else's  religious choices.

They chose you as a friend.

Your friend is to be congratulated. The children must have received a good education and learned to think. This is denied to so many children of religious parents, particularly followers of fundamentalist religions.

He went wrong in that he probably should not have told your community.

Christians are natural bigots and don’t accept anybody who thinks differently to the way they do. In fact they often murder people for it. Your friend’s child’s life is probably now in danger.
