What is the best way to overcome depression?

    Good diet, enough sleep, regular exercise, social connections, and finding a purpose in your life (on your own terms).

    there are lots of ways, and i think ALL of the time it takes work and effort to start making positive life changes for the individual. It's not rocket science, either.

    There are endless web pages out there for depression self-help. There are books which people can borrow from the library for help with depression. All of this information is written so people can do the work it takes to start making some progress toward recovery. It doesn't happen by itself. So, we take the advice we feel may help us and WORK IT in our daily lives. There are many things we can do during the course of our days, weeks and months. And it works if we work it in the long-term.

    There is therapy but the patient needs to realize that HE needs to do the work it takes to recover . Again, it's all about making an effort.

    There are guided meditations on YouTube for help with depression (and a lot of other subjects too) which are helpful. And there are You tube guided meditations for healing the body and mind as well. All it takes is finding one we like and listening to it nightly. In the long term again..... a person can fall to sleep and their subconscious will pick up the messages even if they aren't aware. they are great!

    There are resources for help all over the place. Just do the work, and given some time you're going to start feeling better as each week passes. You have to do this in the long-term . Not for an hour or a day or just a week or month.

    get out of your home, don't stagnate, undertake regular exercise.
