Will Scotch Heather (Calluna vulgaris) survive in the hot, humid summer in zone 6? Maybe under afternoon shade? A nursery by me sells a few.?
Have you had any success growing this plant?
I wanna keep it in a pot. I know that without acidic soil it won't survive, but can it weather the summer heat if it gets some shade?
Can it even be brought indoors when it gets too hot?
Thanks for your advice

You'll be lucky to keep it alive for over a year, it doesn't even do well confined to pots in its native range. When people put it in pots they treat it like an annual. Look for an ericaceous suitable for your zone. It's big family.
