How much does it cost to replace a fuel filler neck on a 1997 toyota corolla?

For the past few weeks, i noticed there was fuel leaking when i put in gas. My mechanic said it might be a fuel filler neck. The car is very old do you think they can fix it under $300?

It is probably the rubber hose . Should not be more than about 50 dollars.

My mechanic said it might be a fuel filler neck.

Start be finding a COMPETENT mechanic, It is RIDICULOUSLY EASY to be 100% certain of that diagnosis.

I happen to think the 300 dollars should be more then enough provided the mechanic isn't that type that sells relative  bearing grease. The part aftermarket is less then 100 dollars:

It comes down to his labor rate and of course what he charges for the part. I am guessing an hours labor plus parts.

It could be around that figure if your mechanic has a low hourly rate.

You want someone to guess how much your mechanic will charge you to fix it? The part is 60 to 100 bucks

I had to repair the same thing on a 2002 Mazda Mpv and the part alone was $950.

No idea what they would charge you but you can do it for under 100, easily.
