Don't. God has never revoked the commandment to marry and fill the Earth.

It's different in different orders. Look up the contact information for the order you are interested in, write or email them to request information, and they will send you some literature.

Don't become a monk. Instead, spend time in the inerrant Word of God. Most monks are trying to work their way to heaven. Thus, they have no assurance of their salvation. Yet, the Bible says you can KNOW you have eternal life through simple faith in Jesus Christ (1 John 5:13).

Because we have all sinned against a perfectly holy and righteous God, we all deserve eternal separation from God in hell (Rom. 6:23). However, God loves us so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross as our Substitute so we don't have to go to hell. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the grave three days later (1 Cor. 15:3-4). He gives eternal life freely to anyone who simply believes in Him for it. No one can be saved by doing good works. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9).

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47).

BTW, Christ already atoned for all our sins when He went to the cross (John 1:29). So why are monks trying to atone for their own sins when they simply need to rest in what Christ has already accomplished on their behalf?

You must decide the religion in which you want to become a monk and the rules are different for different religions

Visit the monastery of your choice and ask to speak with the Abbot, Prior or Master of Novices. You can spend a short time with them, and if you like it and they approve, you can become a postulant. Good luck!
