In a Socialist/Communist society, there would be no economy, as there would be no money or prices or wages or accounts. Production would take place to meet human need, not to make a profit.

The non-capitalist ones, as profit gets in the way of bringing people what they need.

Since we have no examples of functioning communist economies spanning more than a few hundred individuals, it's hard to tell whether communism ("work according to ability, receive according to need") or socialism ("get paid according to your own work")  is better

A socialist economy is more equal but poor. A communist country is much more equal, but people have to wait in a long line for bread. A mixed economy is unequal but rich like the US, or more equal and rich like Japan, Germany, France, etc.
