If you are stupid enough to use password for the child lock, or some other easy thing to use like a birthday, dog name, etc then it won't help.

I got past it so am thinking if they want it bad enough they will get it.  Just use different words.

Just tell the kids it is "fake dummies"  Nothing is real.  It is as real as BATMAN. & the Incredible Hulk.  About as real as WWE Wrestling. Some of it is animation...so toys. or  dolls.  Once they know that, they will get bored.

Most browsers have basic filters that work well for something like that.  You can block whole sites or offensive images or even block pages if they have specific words that you can choose yourself.

It would make it more difficult for someone to go to a porn site from your computer.  Beyond that, it will not block offensive ads or emails.  It will not protect your computer from viruses or malware.  It will not prevent someone from getting to port sites by using a proxy server or other methods of getting around the blocks.

Whether it will "help" depends on what you want it to do.  And how determined someone is to get around the blocks.

Intelligent people have learned that restrictions tend to increase desire and any wall can be penetrated with enough desire to do so. As a teenager, my parents did not lock the liquor cabinet and instead said it was for adults and would displease them if drinking before a legal age. We never touched the stuff. Who is it that you are blocking it from, and what are you doing to educate them?
